The Molecular Microbiology & Immunology department is pleased to welcome Ruth Napier, Ph.D., as an assistant professor as of August 2020. Dr. Napier’s research employs her expertise in biological pathways that mediate infection & host defense to understand novel mechanisms that trigger autoimmunity. Molecular Microbiology and Immunology (MMI) integrates many disciplines concerned with the study of the transmission, immunobiology and pathogenesis of bacterial, parasitic, viral, immunological and infectious diseases of public health importance. At the end of the laboratory rotation term, the student will give a short oral presentation of his/her research project at the Research Forum in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology (see below).
